TN : Trapiche Malbec Viña Jorge Miralles 2008, Bodegas Trapiche, Single Vineyard, La Consulta, San Carlos, Mendoza, Argentina
The chief winemaker was Daniel Pi. The La Consulta vineyard is situated at an altitude of 970 metres above sea level. The age of the vines was ten years. The vineyard row orientation was north-south. The trellis system employed was low espalier (double spur pruning). The vineyard density was 2,600 vines per hectare and the yield was 8,600 kilogrammes per hectare. Furrow irrigation was used within the vineyard. All of the vines were planted on their own rootstock. The soil was alluvial, sandy with pebbles throughout the soil profile.
Fermentation and maceration took place in small concrete vats for a minimum of 25 days at a temperature of 23 to 25 degrees. MLF was natural and the wine was aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. The total acidity is 6.80 grammes per litre and the pH is 3.67.
This wine was imported by Spendrups Bryggeri AB.
