TN : Paul Sauer 2009, Kanonkop Estate Wine, Simonsberg, Stellenbosch, South Africa




This wine is a blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, and 12% Cabernet Franc. The vineyard soils were decomposed granite, Hutton and Clovelly. The average age of the vines was 21 years. The vines wer trellised to a 5 wire hedge. The yield was 4.5 tons per hectare. The wine spent five days on skins in open fermenters at 28 degrees; the cap was punched down manually every two hours. The wine spent 26 months in French Nevers medium toasted oak.





This wine was imported by AB Nigab.

Taste : Blackcurrant, plums, cedar, talcum powder tannins on finish
