TN : Castiglion del Bosco Brunello di Montalcino 2009, DOCG, Tuscany, Italy
The wine is 100% Sangiovese. The grapes were harvested in mid-October. The grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks for 18 days at a temperature of 28 degrees. This wine was aged for two years in French oak, 20% new and 80% in first and second fill, and two years in bottle before release. The vineyard soils contain clay shale and gravel-pebble. The vines are trained to spur cordon and guyot. The planting density is 4,500 to 5,600 vines per hectare.
