TN : Stift Kloster Neuburg Zierfandler Rotgipfler 2012, Weingut Stift Klosterneuburg, Gumpoldskirchen, Thermenregion, Austria



This wine is a blend of Zierfandler (Spätrot) and Rotgipfler. Since the year 2009, Weingut Stift Klosterneubur is the first carbon neutral wine estate in Europe. The vineyard soils are composed of brown earth containing lime. The vineyard slope faces South East and is at an elevation of 240 to 300 metres. The grapes were harvested in October 2012. There was a six hour skin contact and the wine was aged in stainless steel tank. The finished wine was bottled in February 2013. The residual sugar is 10.4 grammes per litre and acidity is 6.0 grammes per litre. This wine was sealed with a screwcap.
