This wine is a blend of 55% Merlot, 35% Syrah, and 10% Sangiovese. Ca'Marcanda is located in Castagneto Carducci in Bolgheri, in the Maremma. The estate was bought by Angelo Gaja in 1996 when vines were planted. The vineyard is composes of loam- and clay-rich terre brune, brown soils.
