Le Fornaci Rosé 2020, Tommasi, Lugana, Italy

A great rosé for the money. Strawberries and raspberries, citrus, a note of marzipan on the finish.

This wine is 100% Turbiana. The grapes for this wine come from owned vineyards in Desenzano del Garda. The vines are trained using the Guyot system with high planting density. One parcel is on a calcareous, variously layered and clayey soil, the other two have a more sandy composition and is rich in silt. The selection of grapes with clayey soil gives body and structure, while the sandy soil gives aroma and elegance.

The grapes underwent a slow fermentation at a controlled temperature (14 ° / 18 °) and were racked by natural sedimentation. The wine was aged for about three months on lees and fine yeasts followed by aging in steel.
