Château La France Delhomme Médoc Cru Bourgeois 2016, Famille Bouey, Bordeaux, France

Needed to decant to let it aerate for a good hour for this to open up. Fruity, red fruits and plums, tobacco, cedar, spice, and drying tannins on finish leave for three years to mellow out and improve.

Alfa Crux Corte Uco 2011, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina

Blackberries, little bit of tobacco, chocolate-like texture liqourice and a bit of black pepper. Would not guess this was ten years old.


This wine is a blend of 50% malbec, 35% tempranillo, 10% merlot, and 5% cabernet sauvignon.

Pear and a bit of peach, lots of minerals and a hint of salt. All about the texture and mouthfeel; not fruit driven

Classic Blaufränkisch 2017, Weingut Hans Igler, Mittelburgenland, Austria

Tangy cherries and raspberries, spice and a bit of leather. A typical Austrian Blaufränkisch. Lovely stuff for the price.

Nik Weis St. Urbans Hof Bockstein Kabinett Riesling 2019, Mosel, Germany

Oil and petrol on the nose. Apples, lime, honey, and petrol. Sweet but the acidity is cutting nicely through it. Very mouthwatering and a long finish.

Not complex but juicy, fruity, and refreshing. Apples, lime, and minerals.
