It was Bernard and Françoise Fontaine who established Chateau Pont Saint Martin in the heart of Pessac-Léognan. The vineyard soil is a combination of grave land sand, with a clay substrata. The grapes undergo a cold maceration prior to fermentation, malolactic fermentation and maturation with the lees in oak barrels, 40–50% of which are new.
