Cherries, blackcurrant, leather, tangy spicy finish. A good Blaufränkisch.

Green herby nose. Blackberry, blueberry, liqourice, white pepper, warm finish. 

Tasted again the day after. The greenness has disappeared. More oaky and a tingly brambly finish is evident. This wine either needs a good decant or some time in the cellar before opening.

Sour cherries, nutty, milk chocolate, a little bit of leather on the finish.

Fruity was the first thing that popped into my mind. Plums, blackberry, cedar, liqourice, cocoa powder like smooth tannins. Great stuff.

Warmth of alcohol, red fruits, blackberry, tobacco, liqourice, oak. Smooth tannins but lacking intensity.

Blackcurrant, leafy, tropical fruits, spritzy. Mouthwatering finish. Fantastic sav blanc for the money.

An imitation Provence rosé - however not as good. Strawberry, redcurrant, citrus notes on the finish.

Pear, peach, apricots, roses, lychee, oily rich texture. This is a fantastic value.

District 7 Pinot Noir Rosé 2019, Monterey County, California, USA

Strawberry, raspberry, unusual gooseberry, slightly sweet. Drinkable but not distinguishable as Pinot Noir; tasted like a White Zinfandel.

Bone dry, minerala, pear, green apple, peach notes, lemon. Better than expected given it was quite cheap.

Lime, lemon, apple, honey, petrol notes, minerals. Juicy mouthwatering finish. Off dry possibly.

Black Stallion Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, California, USA

Bags of flavour without the concentration of a Napa cab. Blackcurrant, plums, graphite pencil, coffee, smooth tannins. Great value for money.

Salvaje Syrah - Roussanne 2019, Emiliano, Casablanca Valley, Chile

Blackberry, blueberry, smoky, hints of mint like most reds from Chile, meaty nose. A great quarter and outdoor red for the summer. Would be great for a barbecue.

Lemon, green apple, minerals. Don't expect any tropical fruit as the climate in the UK is like Champagne.
